WHO WE ARE


We recruit for senior level appointments with a focus on digital, media, comms, commerce, health, ad tech, social, content and influencer marketing.

We're Melanie Bennett and Melissa Coxon and we both have more than 20 years of recruitment experience, having started one of the UK's first digital recruitment operations in 1994. We still love recruiting and have a great network of happy candidates to prove it.

WHAT WE DO

We build long-term relationships with our clients to fulfil their recruitment needs. Our business model offers an on-demand service and flexible billing, meaning that you can use us as much or as little as you need. 

We've engaged with clients on one-off fees, project fees, day rates and long term retainers - and previous contracts have seen us save clients hundreds of thousands of pounds in agency fees.

Not only can we fill your permanent requirements, we can also help with special projects, such as market mapping for future proofing and pipelining your business. We can turn our hands to any discipline, quickly picking up what's really important about roles - we know the right questions to ask and how to use the correct tone and terminology for each project.

Uniquely, once we're briefed, we will both work to fill your role. Unlike traditional agencies, who may assign you to a single consultant, when we're on board, you'll benefit from not one but two exec directors working on your brief as opposed to just one account manager.

To date, neither discipline nor location has proved to be a barrier for us when filling roles. As a result, we've worked across a wide range of markets including UK, EMEA, Northern Europe and APAC.
PROJECTS & CASE STUDIES

We have worked with independent start-ups and global enterprises, placing roles in creative and comms agencies, broadcasters, publishers and social media companies.

Most recently, we were embedded on a retainer with Publicis Groupe in London, recruiting for Executive Search and senior positions in account management and leadership, business development, media strategy, content, commerce, digital and performance and ad tech across UK and EMEA. In 2019, we filled 40 roles and through our flexible billing model, saved the company hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Our story


We started one of the UK's first digital recruitment operations in 1994 and after scaling it up to a £10m operation, we successfully sold the company to a global recruitment business in 2008. After working through the first dot.com gold rush, we've stayed at the forefront of the market ever since, recruiting for media, social, influencer, ad tech and everything in between. 

Having run a large recruitment operation, we made the decision to go back to what we really enjoy - day-to-day recruitment. We launched Chemistry Recruiters with the mission to deploy our expertise and offer better value to a small rota of clients. Because whilst the recruitment marketplace may have changed in the last decade, understanding individuals, finding people and making connections hasn't.
